Fuel System Tune-Up
Fuel efficiency depends on 3 elements: air, fuel and combustion of the two. At all of our stores, a 3-step cleaning process addresses them all.
What it is: You know how fireplaces, chimneys and grills get covered with black gunk over time? The same happens in your engine. Over time, that gunk makes your engine less powerful. It slows the flow of fuel and air. When it clogs the fuel injectors, it turns the fine spray into a gloppy stream that doesn't ignite fully. That means you use more fuel, but get less power.
Our fuel system cleaning involves 3 steps:
- Fuel system cleaner is added into the gas tank to clean the gas pump, fuel lines and injectors. We run the cleaner through to cleanse the engine.
- We add a second cleaner directly to the warm engine, where it removes gunk and carbon deposits from the combustion chambers.
- Finally, we hand-clean the air intake using a third cleaner and bottle brushes to remove rough deposits that disturb air flow and reduce efficiency.
Benefit: A clean engine and fuel system means more power, better mileage and fewer repairs.
